What is lIFESTYLE PHOTOGRAPHY?

When it comes to posing, my clients will often ask me: "what should I do?". The answer is simple: "do what you always do". Simply pretend I'm not there. Think of me as a fly on the wall. This is what I love about lifestyle photography. I get to witness life's best moments: cheesy smiles, silly faces, loving looks and belly laughs.

It's perfectly imperfect.

Lighting:

Whether it's dark and moody, or light and airy. I will use natural light, and the ensure its enhanced for your sessions. Lighting can be unpredictable, but I find that to be the appealing part.

Together, we will discuss the lighting for the day and work with it to help it create mood.

Artificial light is available for certain packages

Movement:

Capturing movement has become quite a trend, especially in weddings- and I am HERE. FOR. IT.

That's why, in many times during my sessions, I will adjust my settings to convey a "snapshot" in time. Why is this important to me as a creative? It's a way of sharing what a specific moment felt like.

Location:

A fun one, but can be tricky if not pre-planned. Although I have a studio in Downtown Anoka, Minnesota. I also have a number of favorite spots to shoot at. If my clients have specific locations they want to have photos taken at, I always have them consider a two factors: season and time of day. Both have a factor for lighting, and popularity of the space.
